Aufheben will address issues in contemporary photography by exhibiting images made by artists who challenge the traditional modes of photographic production. The basis for the show is the German concept of “Aufheben,” a word that simultaneously means to preserve, to elevate, and to cancel. Utilizing digital interaction, curators Zachary Norman and Aaron Hergert selected artists through internet research. The result being a group exhibition featuring work from the artists listed below.
