Bill Maher

Bill Maher, one of America’s most provocative comedians and television hosts, is bringing his unflinching honesty and witty satire to IU Auditorium on October 28 in an unforgettable stand-up comedy performance.

His act will mirror the outspoken, provocative comedic style of his television shows, utilizing humor to challenge organized institutions and their individuals. Maher’s comments always prove bluntly humorous. “The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them,” Maher scrutinizes.

For the last 18 years, Maher has pushed the boundaries of where funny, political talk can go on American television through late-night talk shows. Maher started hosting Comedy Central’s—and later ABC’s—Politically Incorrect in 1993, which won him numerous awards, including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Technical Direction. He currently hosts the show, Real Time with Bill Maher, which has featured regular visitors such as John Edwards, Ben Affleck, Robin Williams, Arianna Huffington, and
Alec Baldwin. Throughout his comically controversial career, he has earned an outstanding twenty-three Emmy Award nominations.
