YOGA AND CREATIVE WRITING DAY RETREAT
Inside Out: A Day of Yoga, Journal Writing, and Herbal Alchemy

Join Annette Oppenlander and Ruth Cohen for a unique retreat. Spend the day with your fellow yogis as we move our bodies, clear our minds, and uncover the mysteries of our hearts. We will find flow in both our bodies and our minds as we creatively explore the seven energy centers of our bodies. Allowing our chakras to release and embrace, we direct our energies to the page, lending words to these expressions through guided journal writing. We’ll round out our experience with a nourishing lunch and heighten our senses by crafting our own essential oil moisturizers.

This retreat is perfect for all levels of yoga and writing ability—from barest beginners to those who are most experienced.

This day away from your daily busyness will help you:
Rediscover your voice.
Get filled with inspiration.
Be free of distractions.
Balance your energy centers.

Annette's Bio:
Annette Oppenlander is an award-winning writer, literary coach and educator. As a bestselling historical novelist, Oppenlander is known for her authentic characters and stories based on true events, coming alive in well-researched settings. Having lived in Germany the first half of her life and the second half in various parts in the U.S., Oppenlander inspires readers by illuminating story questions as relevant today as they were in the past. Oppenlander’s bestselling true WWII story, Surviving the Fatherland, was elected to IWIC’s Hall of Fame. Her historical time-travel trilogy, Escape from the Past, takes readers to the German Middle Ages and the Wild West. Uniquely, Oppenlander weaves actual historical figures and events into her plots, giving readers a flavor of true history while enjoying a good story. Oppenlander shares her knowledge through writing workshops at colleges, libraries and schools. She also offers vivid presentations and author visits. She lives with her husband and old mutt, Mocha, in Bloomington, Ind.

Ruth's Bio:
Ruth Cohen found Yoga after a knee injury sidelined decades of running, and her weight lifting regime grew tedious. She craved the physical exertion of Bikram and power vinyasa classes. Yoga had it all: cardio, strength training and flexibility. Then much to her delight, Ruth discovered that yoga offered even more: her asanas deepened and her heart opened. Yoga morphed from a physical practice into a life practice.
