Event

Playing off the theme of the annual Bloomington Quilt Show at the Convention Center, the Farmer House Museum is displaying dolls who have favorite quilts of their own! It's a heartwarming show for which dolls and toy animals selected favorite doll sized quilts, doilies, bits of fabric and, in one case, a baby blanket. The centerpiece for the show, in the Bellevue Gallery, was curated by Emily Purcell, whose ball jointed dolls had a quilting bee for the occasion. The doll whose quilt is voted the best will get a triumphal ride along the B-line trail in a carriage (this will be on Facebook. Vote once, vote often for the best doll-made quilt! (a door prize will be given away to a lucky voter). Saturdays in March will also be Doll Days at the Farmer House Museum. Emily will be working on her doll repair and clothing projects in the work room. If you are interested in dolls, bring your own projects to show off or work on in a fun group atmosphere.
The Farmer House Museum is located at 529 N. College Avenue in downtown Bloomington. The hours are 10-4 Wednesday-Sunday. Admission is always free. There will be a reception for this exhibit on Friday, March 3 from 5 pm - 9 pm. See our Facebook or call 812-336-5597 for more information.
